Dr. Michael Binder

Dr. Michael Binder is responsible for international sustainability programs for feed and food systems at Evonik and has more than 20 years experience in biotechnology along the food value chain and sustainability evaluation.

Within Evonik Nutrition&Care GmbH, Dr. Binder takes care of international sustainability programs and projects for feed and food systems transferring LCA approaches and methodologies into marketing concepts. He further represents Evonik in the EU Association of Specialty Feed Ingredients and their Mixtures (FEFANA), where he headed the technical advisory group of the SFIS (Specialty Feed Ingredients Sustainability) project phase II.

As a member of the IFIF board (International Feed Industry Federation) and the IFIF Sustainability Committee Dr. Binder currently supports the Technical Advisory Group on Feed Additives within the Partnership on Livestock Environmental Assessment and Performance (LEAP). Evonik Nutrition&Care GmbH is one of the co-leaders of the work stream on dietary shifts within the FReSH (Food Reform for Sustainability and Health) initiative of the World Business Council of Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and the EAT Foundation, which brings the stakeholders of the food systems together aiming to establish sustainable and healthy nutrition on a global scale. Dr. Binder holds a degree in technical biology at the University of Stuttgart in Germany.
