Nina Challand leads the global sustainability metrics team at BASF Nutrition & Health and is dedicated to collaborating with stakeholders across the value chain to drive sustainable growth.

Nina has more than 15 years experience within industry and academia.
At BASF, she supports the Animal Nutrition business to identify opportunities for sustainable development.Together with a global team, she is currently focusing on the interface of sustainability metrics and digitalization in animal nutrition and livestock farming.

She believes it takes a sound scientific assessment to define targets and measure one’s progress in improving the environmental footprint: “After all, you can only manage what you can measure.”

Nina Challand holds a PhD in organic chemistry and is representing BASF in the GFLI and the IFIF FEFANA SFIS (Specialty Feed Ingredients Sustainability) project.
